The Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous have helped millions of people. Why do they work? Are they only for "those people" who struggle with "those" problems? What many people don't know is that these steps came out of the Christian spiritual life. Is there anything we can learn from them? Some have recommended that we bring them back into the church as a kind of "Sinners Anonymous"; re-importing them as a way to recover real life transformations, i.e. systematic repentance.
